Medicine is driven by service and putting others first. Although a medical career is quite exciting, it puts you in a position where your actions matter. It enables you to help people live better and more enjoyable lives.

And that’s what Christopher Valsaint understood when he first heard the word “doctor.”

After realizing that medicine was the most effective way of helping people, Christopher Valsaint wanted to pursue a medical career from a young age. He was fond of research and believed that medical research could be the best means of helping people live longer and be happier.

Although he was aware of the challenges that awaited him in medicine, his enthusiasm was the key factor that helped him kickstart a successful medical career. From Faculté de Médecine de l’Université d’Etat d’Haiti to his medical journey in the U.S., Valsaint overcame all the challenges and became a doctor who excelled in his field.

Early Years

Christopher Williams Valiant was born in Dessalines, a commune in Haiti’s Artibonite department. The town of Dessalines is quite famous as it is named after Jean-Jacques Dessalines, the charismatic leader of the Haitian Revolution.

Valiant spent his early years in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city, where he successfully completed his medical degree at Faculté de Médecine de l’Université d’Etat d’Haïti. This state university is the only national establishment that trains healthcare professionals and has prepared numerous young people to become doctors and pharmacists.

At the Faculté de Médecine de l’Université d’Etat d’Haïti, Valsaint studied over ten semesters followed by one internship year in Community Medicine. When the internship was successfully concluded, he was awarded a doctorate in medicine.

Medical Career in the U.S.

After graduation, Valsaint decided to give a boost to his career by pursuing medicine in the U.S. He believed the U.S. had the best medical institutes and could offer him a way to help others. And he was right.

Valsaint’s medical career in the U.S. allowed him to develop better relationships with patients and engage in complex problem-solving situations that helped him make a positive impact on people’s lives. That’s why he consistently strived to learn more every day and work toward his calling.

The doctor completed his Doctor of Medicine degree in the U.S. in about six years. It required him to complete case studies, classwork, research papers, and hands-on clinical practice. After getting the degree, he was certified as a medical doctor who could practice medicine in the U.S.

Future Aims and Goals

Valiant is convinced that he has the potential to overcome the complexities in medical practices. He believes that with further research, he can improve medical knowledge and cure diseases that may not be currently possible.

His motto is simple, “Better Medical Research, Better Lives.”

Valsaint knows that advancements in medicine are the only way people can lead better lives. And to make that dream a reality, he works round the clock so others can lead longer, happier, healthier lives.
