prostateThis is the 3 tesla MRI image of a prostate with a tumor.  The 62 year old man with NO SYMPTOMS came in for a wellness check up.  At the Q, we routinely include tumor markers in our Comprehensive Blood Panel. The gentlemen had a PSA (prostate specific antigen) of 14, well above the upper limit of the normal range.  An MRI was booked for the following day and the TUMOR WAS FOUND.  He was scheduled for surgery within a week and is now recovering.

Routine testing at your doctor’s office may not include all the cancer screening that is currently available. With today’s technology a simple blood test can search for cancers of the prostate, ovaries, pancreas and other parts of the gastrointestinal tract.  Often tumor markers are positive before an image can be found and is the reason why the Q Review offers both.
